Those who have attended the Lisbon Popular Saints’ festivals know that one of the symbols of the festivities, besides the obvious Saint Anthony, is the sardine.

I must confess that I’m more of a “bifana” team, but it’s undeniable that the sardine takes the prize for the best silhouette compared to pork chops.

That’s precisely why the Festas de Lisboa (Lisbon Festivals) took this concept and created an annual competition that challenges participants to submit illustration inspired by the sardine silhouette.
